1Glen Onoko

Glen Onoko is in the southern part of the Lehigh Gorge State Park and contains multiple trails for hiking and views of magnificent waterfalls.
Before deciding to take the step of hiking such hardest trail like Glen Onoko, here is some of what you need to know: It is a technical trail with rock scrambles and high waterfalls; you should using good footwear and watch your step, as you know or not people have died here.
Moreover make sure to read the warning signs as the trail gets progressively harder as it pass next to the stream and up over eroded embankments.
Many hikers say that is best to hike Glen Onoko in dry weather to watch waterfalls in sunny days.


This was an awesome hike with beautiful scenery. This is not an easy hike and appropriate footwear should be worn

2 Switchback Trail Jim Thorpe, PA

The Switchback Trail is designated for hiking, nature trips, birding, and mountain biking and is best used from April until October. It follows the old Switchback Gravity Railroad line starting from Mauch Chunk Lake Park to the Lehigh River Canal.

Hikers will enjoy natural scenic beauty of the area and magnificent overlook of the Lehigh Gorge State Park. So take your time and enjoy all the things that this beautiful recreational trail has to offer. more details & directions

NB. Drinking water is very important along your hike. So, you should have a hydration system like The Lifestraw Water Filter for solo and short hike, or The Platypus GravityWorks 4L for long and group hike.

We hiked the Switchback Trail in mid-October on a chilly but absolutely perfect Saturday morning

This place is just wonderful. Beautiful, scenic and peaceful

We passed by here on our way home from Jim Thorpe, saw the sign, and decided to stop, it was a beautiful September day and the views of the lake were great

3 Tank Hollow Trail Jim Thorpe

Tank Hollow Trail is located near Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The hardest part about this hike is finding it! I love this hike, I’ve been living in Hawaii since 2014 and this was my 2nd hike since moving back to PA

Great reward at the lookout, we parked in the first parking lot but could have cut the hike in half if we parked in the second lot in

Great views of the Lehigh River, I always feel relaxed on this trail

No matter what section you walk you will enjoy it, besides the river, something in the woods and always nature to see

Jim Thorpe is an exceptional area to hike in the north east of United States with a lot of green view, mountain, river and waterfalls. Either you are from Pennsylvania State or elsewhere but you like hiking, Jim Thorpe is another opportunity that you should discover with attention.
